Lee Gelbloom

Lee Gelbloom began dancing intensively at the age of 13 when she was accepted at Etobicoke School for the Arts in Toronto, ON. Her studies continued at Concordia University in Montreal, Qc. where she graduated in 2011 with a BFA in Contemporary Dance.

While in Montreal she participated in numerous festivals and performances such as: Art Matters, Bouge d’ici as well as creating her own independent work presented as part of Semaine de la Danse.

After travelling through SouthEast Asia and the Middle East, Lee has returned to Toronto where she is currently working as company member in Social Growl Dance and participating in Dancemakers’ EDAP project. In addition, she is collaborating with musician Raz Koren.

Through training with acclaimed teachers Lee has applied several distinct techniques to her own practice. She has developed a mature, complex, grounded and captivating way of moving.

Lee is excited to be back in her hometown working with Toronto artists. She is always eager to explore new opportunities working in partnership with others as well as developing outlets for her own creative process.
