Arts Assembly enters a new phase in their relationship with Dancemakers as Guest Curators of the 2024/2025 season! Their history with Dancemakers begun in 2022 when they curated a virtual panel about dance description for Blind and Low Vision audiences.
We are so excited to be supporting Arts Assembly as they continue this important research in dance description-- a practice that will increase complex access to dance for Blind and Low Vision spectators of all disciplines! We look forward to updating you with project details in coming months.
About arts assembly
[Image Description: Arts Assembly Logo features the words ARTS ASSEMBLY in black capital letters on a white background, aligned to the left.]
Arts Assembly is a not-for-profit, community-centric arts organization that emphasizes artistic collaboration. It is committed to working with social practice and research-based interdisciplinary artists who are similarly working to expand the notion of what art can be and do. Co-directed by Whitney Brennan and Meichen Waxer, Arts Assembly creates opportunities for artists to engage critically with communities through accessible programming, including residencies, workshops, and public projects. Rooted in care, reciprocity, and process, the organization fosters dialogue and experimentation while building meaningful relationships across disciplines and geographies. Arts Assembly operates between Vancouver and Toronto.
