Introduction to Fitzmaurice Voicework®

Monday, June 1 to Friday, June 5, 2020

10 am to 12 Noon

Pay-What-You-Can-AFFORD DAILY at the Door | cash only

Fitzmaurice Voicework® is a somatic approach to voice that “explores the dynamics between body, breath, voice, the imagination, language, and presence. It encourages vibrant voices that communicate intention and feeling without excess effort.” - Catherine Fitzmaurice, founder of Fitzmaurice Voicework®

Dancemakers' Resident Artist Lee Su-Feh brings to her teaching of Fitzmaurice Voicework® a tremendous sensitivity to the nuances of body, breath, voice and presence, gleaned from years of practice as a dancer, choreographer and movement teacher. Using pleasure as a guiding principle, we will explore a voice that comes from a body in touch with its sensations. Fitzmaurice Voicework® gives us tools and strategies to listen to the wisdom of our biology while we stay present and connected to the world around us.
