“The title ‘curator’ has […] expanded beyond the confines of those who care for collections or stage exhibitions in art museums.”

– Terry Smith in Thinking Contemporary Curating

The 2026-27 Dance Curation Working Group was selected from our annual Call for Curators and includes a wide range of emerging and established independent dance curators.

The Working Group will meet together at various times throughout the year to discuss dance curation, build community and gain skills from dance curators locally, nationally and internationally.

The Working Group will also attend all of the shows, workshops and lectures that Dancemakers will host in the 2026/27 programming year.
