Dancemakers is searching for an Interim Co-Artistic Producer to cover a 12 month parental leave

The ideal candidate will have experience in grant-writing, arts administration and align with Dancemakers mission, values & policies.

Current Co-Artistic Producer Christina de la Cruz will be taking a parental leave from the beginning of December 2026 for one-year until the end of November 2027.

There will be a training period in November 2026 before Christina starts her parental leave.

The position of 2026/27 Interim Artistic Producer will fit into the Co-Artistic Producer structure by providing mostly operational support while being responsible for smaller creative projects.

Co-Artistic Producer Cara Spooner will provide artist-facing and project support during this time.

There will be an overlap period of 2-4 weeks (decided by the candidate and Christina) in which both Christina and the Interim Artistic Producer will work together for training purposes and to confirm the tasks and responsibilities for the year to come.

Experience and Skils required:

  • Arts Administration experience (management or administration role in another arts organization)
  • Grant writing experience (familiarity with Toronto Arts Council and Canada Council for the Arts operating grants, reporting, independent research for project grants)
  • Financial experience (operational funding cycles, supporting an audit, day to day banking and CADAC)
  • Governance experience (working with a Board of Directors)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Alignment with Dancemakers policies and values

Optional (and welcomed) experience and skills:

  • Charitable gaming familiarity (filing reports with the city of Toronto)
  • Production experience (specifically with marley)
  • Interest in curating dance & live arts

Information about the Role:

$55,000 (per year) + benefits (CPP & EI taken off of each bi-weekly paycheck)

4 day work week or the equivalent of 32 hours a week (flexible work schedule)

8 paid vacation days

8 paid sick days

Some evenings and weekends may be required based on programming needs.

We have a physical office share (3 days a week) and all other administration hours are remote.

The candidate must be based in Toronto for hosting in-person events and facilitating marley rentals.
