Artrude Porte

Artrude Porte is an Ottawa-born actor, dancer, and emerging filmmaker with a love for storytelling through movement. She began acting at age 11, training at The Acting Company, the Ottawa School of Speech and Drama, and the National Arts Centre. Her past theatre work includes Goodbye, I’ve Only Blamed Myself, and Lexture.

She is a disabled dancer training in adaptive ballet, contemporary/lyrical, and baton, dances with Devotion Dance Company, and was part of Dancemakers’ Wheels That Move — Canada’s first manual wheelchair dance training
program.

She directed her first short film, which premiered at SAW
Video. With experience in stand-up, Artrude brings a bold and humorous voice to everything she creates.
