Dancemakers operates in Tkaranto on the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Haudenosaunee, the Anishnaabe and the Huron Wendat peoples under Treaty 13.

The Dish With One Spoon was originally created between the Anishinaabe, Mississaugas and Haudenosaunee which bound them to share the territory and protect the land.

As we acknowledge those whose lands have been taken from them, we also acknowledge those who have been taken from their lands. We would also like to name the connected but distinct struggles of Black and refugee people in Canada fighting for justice alongside Indigenous peoples and settlers.
