Artist

Serena Lee is interested in how energy circulates. Tracing and translating the notion of vital energy, she plays with artistic strategies to re-imagine ways of knowing, making, and relating. Via cinema, installation, sound, performance, writing, and collective study, her projects unfold through situated and collaborative processes, responsive to place and time. Her research on taijiquan as an aesthetic methodology was shared as an exhibition and study program at Casco Art Institute (Utrecht, NL) in Spring 2025. A third-generation Chinese-Canadian, Serena is based between Toronto and Vienna, where she completed a PhD at the Akademie der bildenden Künste Wien.
