Artist
Leah Danga is a multidisciplinary artist based in Montreal, specializing in contemporary and traditional African dances, with a background in hip-hop and popping. Of Kenyan and Cameroonian heritage, she grew up in a culturally rich environment that nurtured her passion for movement and cultural transmission from an early age. She began her artistic journey with the group PROSPECTS in 2018 before joining Afrodojo Collective in 2020, where she developed a practice rooted in sharing, research, and the celebration of African and Afro-diasporic cultures. Having danced professionally for the past six years, Leah has performed on local and international stages, including festivals and cultural events. Alongside her performance career, Leah is actively involved in dance education, teaching at Cats Corner and leading classes and workshops in schools, colleges, and universities. She also serves as Coordinator and Project Manager of Afrodojo Collective. Her artistic practice explores the connections between heritage, identity, and community, driven by the belief that human experiences can bring us together beyond our differences.
