George Stamos

Artist

George Stamos is a prolific Montréal-based dance artist whose poetic, transdisciplinary works bring the subconscious into view. George is currently touring his solo Sister Nightlight, which earned acclaim at The Citadel: Ross Centre for Dance (Toronto) in 2025. He has held residencies at Baryshnikov Arts Center (NYC) and Agora de la Danse (Montréal), and received the 2014 McKnight Fellowship for International Choreographers. With expertise in postmodern and contemporary choreographic techniques, including Central African dance, George holds a BA in choreography from Amsterdam University of the Arts, a Graduate Diploma in Communication Studies from Concordia University and is currently enrolled in the Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology program at Yorkville University.
