Dhvani Ramanujam

Dhvani Ramanujam is a writer and emerging curator currently pursuing a PhD in Cinema and Media Studies at York University, interested in archives, aesthetics, and poetics of gesture. Her dissertation research looks at film curation at the intersection of archival practice, exploring queer, feminist, and decolonial curatorial methods for reactivating marginalized film histories. Her writing has appeared in BlackFlash Magazine; C Magazine, and Public Parking. She is a co-curator of “The Rituals of a Roving Body,” an ongoing film program on dance, choreography, and bodily gestures from York University’s 16mm archive. Dhvani is also a board member of the8fest Small-Gauge Film Festival; programmer of Film Notes, a new scent-based film screening series; and a member of Triptych, a Toronto-based curatorial collective.
