We had a fantastic response to our call to artists for the Plug & Play 2016 Winter Holiday Residency! The need for this kind of program is so clear: if a bare-bones residency taking place over Christmas and New Years had 17 excellent applications, then clearly there is a dire need for space and time to create. We are happy to be able to offer this opportunity when we can and hope to keep being able to do it more. In the end, we were able to give this time to four artists, splitting the time up according to their schedules.

Sahara Morimoto will work in the theatre, developing a new class structure (I'm excited to train with her!); Terrill Maguire will also work in the theatre creating a new group work that (hopefully and beautifully) proposes that dance and art can make a difference in dark times.

In the Baker, Jamee Valin will undertake a hibernation residency, working on a solo dealing with domesticity and feminine identities, and Julia Male will revisit the final two sections of a three-part solo she began in 2014 titled Fear Makes All The Difference.
