EDAP2010 – Emerging Dance Artist Project
Bridging the gap between training and doing.
Applications are now being accepted | Closing date July 10th
A week-long encounter for dance and theatre practitioners with a strong physical practice wherein everyone is invited to train, perform and generate. Six days of doing and talking about the intersection, conversation, overlap and difference between disciplines without relying on slashes or hyphens.
EDAP offers specific opportunities to get inside and learn more about a choreographer’s approach and values. Working on strategies for making, dancing, and thinking about performance.
Morning technique classes will be taught by the choreographer and guest teachers specifically selected to prepare students for the day and a life in dance.
July 26 - 31, 2010
Public Recordings | Ame Henderson with Katie Ewald, Brendan Jensen and Barbara Pallomina
In this one week exchange Ame Henderson and some of her closest collaborators invite participants to join a collaborative creation process, sharing composition and conceptual strategies and using these to create performance material and situations between participants. Daily practice will begin with body training focused on breath, release and alignment followed by investigations using several of Henderson's compositional and improvisation systems leading to experiments in how to purpose these for performance. Ame is joined by Katie Ewald, Brendan Jensen and Barbara Pallomina.
