Alternative Wednesdays
Awareness and Conditioning with Carolyn Woods
April 21, May 5, and May 26 | 10 - 11:30 | $10/class |
Dancemakers and the Centre for Creation
This class will look at opening up the hips, strengthening the gluts, abdominals, pelvic floor, adductors, and feet in order to find better alignment and more ease while standing.
Please note: Dancers will be learning tools. If one is going to a dance rehearsal right after the class, please allow time for a proper warm-up
About the Instructor:
Carolyn Woods has been teaching Pilates at the Mitrea Pilates Center for six years. Here she was first introduced to the techniques of Guy Voyer DO, an Osteopath from France who worked closely with the Paris Opera Ballet for over ten years. They have discovered that special techniques like Myofascial Stretching, ELDOA, awareness exercises, and precise strengthening techniques are unlike any other techniques currently know. They also blend beautifully with the Pilates method and facilitate the correct bony alignment of the dancer.
